Parents

 Parents are important to AFIL
Based on its 30 year history, AFIL  has found that parents and guardians are an important resource.

Involvement in resident life is encouraged and volunteering time or serving on an AFIL committee is welcomed. AFIL committees both guide and advise the AFIL program.

AFIL residents have varied abilities and all share the desire to learn independent living skills.

RESOURCES

AFIL parents hold meetings a few times each year. At one of these meetings, we were very happy to receive presentations from several profesionals in the areas of Estate and Financial planning as well as from MetroCare (MRA of Dallas County).

These dedicated people left us with a number of resources that are available to Parents here. Please read and consult with the people involved and take advice from several other sources before you make any decissions.
